Our Mission Statement

The Upper Moreland Education Foundation exists to provide the Upper Moreland Community with enhanced learning opportunities through creative and innovative educational programs.

Overview

Each year, members from the Upper Moreland education community are invited to participate in a competitive process for UMEF grant monies.  As UMEF grows, we will be able to support more programs and reach more children in the Upper Moreland community.  Application Guidelines and Procedures are available on this website or by contacting one of the officers.

Board Goals

Our goal is to have a board of trustees, management, staff and volunteers genuinely demonstrate the principles of diversity, which enrich our community.  Diversity is valuing individuals without regard to race, religion, color, gender, nationality, sexual orientation, physical challenge or age.  We need diversity because our work has taught us its value.  Every day we experience the dramatic changes occurring in our community: changing demographics, changing workplace attitudes, and changing needs.  Our ability to embrace diversity and to make it an integral part of our business will enable us to serve our community more effectively.  It will also help us attract new volunteers, new employees, and new donors.

The Upper Moreland Education Foundation was formed in 1999 by a group of Upper Moreland area residents as a private 501(c)3 non-profit foundation.  The UMEF exists to provide the Upper Moreland community with enhanced learning opportunities through the creative and innovative educational programs.
